About Rowan Connell

Mr Rowan Connell is a Consultant based in West Kent with over 34 years experience. He became a Consultant Gynaecologist at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2004, after completing his medical training at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital in London. All of his training took place in London and the South East.

He specialises in the treatment of:

- Prolapse

- Incontinence

- Bladder problems

- Vaginal surgery

He has extensive experience in all types of prolapse and female incontinence care, including urodynamic testing, non-surgical treatments, SSF (Sacrospinous Fixation) and suspension procedures. He also performs laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomies.

Mr Connell has particular expertise in managing menopausal symptoms, including vaginal atrophy, and offers hormonal replacement therapy (HRT).

He is highly experienced in using modern and innovative techniques for prolapse and continence care. 15 years ago, he introduced laparoscopic subtotal (day-case) hysterectomies to local hospitals — an approach designed to reduce complications and improve patient outcomes.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Connell is dedicated to medical training and research and has been widely published in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
