Mr Connell's medical journey began at the prestigious St Thomas' Hospital (UMDS London University), where he qualified in Medicine and Surgery in 1991. His entire career and specialist training have been rooted in London and the South East, giving him an unparalleled understanding of the regional healthcare landscape.
After being appointed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2004, he served the Kent community for nearly two decades. His leadership later led him to become Medical Director of Benenden Hospital and Chief Medical Officer at Benenden Society, roles he held until December 2024.
